2016 Major Policies for Taipei City Government

To realize the vision of Taipei as a model of “Liveable Cities,” the city government will endeavor to implement the following 18 administrative goals through seven approaches:
I. Environment and Quality of Living
(1) Strengthening disaster prevention capabilities to make Taipei a safer place to live
(2) Carrying out environmental protection policies; working towards sustainable development
II. Health and Medical Care
(1) Constructing a health city; promoting physical well-being
(2) Improving the medical system; advancing holistic health
III. Education and Recreation
(1) Reinventing Taipei brands; enhancing city images
(2) Holding cultural events; shaping the city’s identity
(3) Adopting diverse and adaptive educational system; nurturing talents in all fields
IV. Civil Administration and Social Welfare
(1) Thriving to become a friendly city; delivering a sense of happiness and belonging
(2) Strengthening support system; fulfilling care for seniors
(3) Enhancing cultural inclusiveness; promoting understanding among ethnic groups
(4) Taking people’s needs into consideration; seeking living justice
V. Transportation and Infrastructure
(1) Encouraging green transportation; perfecting the public transportation networks
(2) Invigorating old districts; propelling urban renewal projects
(3) Undertaking smart city initiatives; accumulating governance power
VI. Employment and Economic Growth
(1) Providing incentives for entrepreneurship and investment; spearheading industry upgrade programs
VII. Politics and Public Participation
(1) Encouraging public participation; boosting administrative quality
(2) Increasing asset utilization; realizing justice and equality
(3) Implementing flexible organizational structure; enforcing management system
