According to“metabolic syndrome” has become an important public health issue, the metabolic syndrome is an initial factor to cause the diabetes and cardiovascular Disease. Therefore, to strengthen the public awareness of the metabolic syndrome and waist circumference of a correct concept of health, on 15th Aug 2009, Mayor Lung-bin Hau has demonstration the correct methods of measure waist with approximately 300 pairs of fathers and sons or fathers and daughters, aimed to achieve the Guinness Book of World Records the common challenges to embrace the activities of parent-child, which to ensure Taipei citizens understand the importance of keeping healthy waist.
