Taipei City Government introduced the FTTH project in an effort to implement high-quality fiber-optic network; to provide low-cost but high-speed internet access; to create a fair competitive environment for telecommunications industry; and to sharpen the city’s competitive edge. The policy is expected to create a triple-win scenario benefiting the residents, the industry players, and the city government by tapping into the vitality of the private sector.
