What is the policy and fare for taking bicycles on Taipei metro?

1. To promote leisure activities in line with Taipei City Government's policy, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) allows passengers to travel by metro with their bicycles from 6am to the end of the service on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, deferred holidays, and flexibly adjusted holidays. Passengers with regular (non-folded) bicycles may access the metro system from all stations except the following: (1)Tamsui Station (2)Taipei Main Station (3)Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station (4)Zhongshan Station (5)Daan Station (6)Zhongxiao Fuxing Station (7)Nanjing Fuxing Station (8)All stations on the Wenhu Line and Circular Line.  Passengers who want to take a bicycle on the metro system should purchase an unrefundable single-journey ticket at the Information Counter of stations where bicycle access is allowed. The fare is NT$ 80 and the ticket is valid for one-person-with-one-bicycle only. The ticket holder should enter and exit the station together with the bicycle. For related information, please visit the Taipei Metro website (http://english.metro.taipei/ Home / Metro Guide / Regulations / Stipulations for Passengers with Bicycles), or ask for related brochure at any metro station.
2. Bicycles are allowed on the Taipei Metro on weekdays between 10:00~16:00. Bicycle access and fare regulations remain the same.
3. Due to limited space in Wenhu Line and Circular Line’s trains and stations, regular bicycles are not permitted on these two lines.
4. Folding bicycles that have been folded and properly packed are allowed to be brought into stations. They will be treated as luggage and no additional fare is required. Passengers who bring folded bicycles that conform to the preceding regulations may push the bicycles, but they must not obstruct system safety or interfere with other passengers.
