Fares of the city’s Taipei Joint Bus Systems are charged according to the number of paying sectors traveled, and no inactivation security measure is installed. However, for public buses (with 4-digit number designations), fares are charged according to mileage traveled; passengers need to scan their EasyCards when boarding and alighting. If the passenger forgets to scan their card, the card will be inactivated when he boards the same bus next time and travels on the same metered route.
