Does Taipei Metro install priority seats in each carriage? How do you conduct a campaign that effectively promotes behavioral rules on reminding passengers to yield their seat to those in need?
1.Yes, for taking care of elderly, pregnant and disabled passengers, priority seats are installed in each carriage located adjacent to the train doors. The color of priority seats is dark blue which obviously differs from other seats.
2. TRTC routinely used posters, light panels for advertisements, announcements, scrolling text on passenger information displays and televisions on platforms to promote metro etiquette. Moreover, starting from September 2007, we issued a “priority sticker”. Elderly, pregnant, disabled and ill passengers who require seats on the Metro were encouraged to pick up a priority sticker at the Information Counter. The campaign also aimed to teach other passengers to recognize and yield their seats to anyone wearing the priority stickers.
