YDO Invites Students to Explore Creativity at the Youth Creative Space

Students taking part in the maker school field trip Taipei City Youth Development Office’s (YDO) highly popular maker school field trip has seen the participation of 6,200 Taipei students. For this semester, a series of courses inspired by the theme of Technology Infusion and Hands-On Experience has been launched to impart scientific knowledge in a non-traditional, practical way. In addition to listening to lectures, the students can also focus on their hands-on skills, thereby making field trips more challenging and fun!

Of the many unique maker courses, the city’s Jiankang Elementary School especially invited Shumei Elementary School from Kinmen County to join the AR Pop Quiz course. The excited children assembled at YDO’s Youth Creative Space and listened to the teacher’s adaptive learning instructions.

After obtaining basic application techniques, they were allowed to unleash their boundless creativity to complete their creations to the best of their ability. In doing so, they can observe each other’s work and appreciate different perspectives from kids in the city and offshore island, thereby turning the event into a cross-municipal learning experience and dialogue.

According to Pan, the teacher responsible for developing the course, “Students often envy the plethora of maker equipment in the Youth Creative Space, and they love to experience the course with their classmates, demonstrating their passion for scientific creation in the maker course.”

Spots for YDO’s diverse and meticulously designed maker activities are often snatched up in no time as soon as they are made available to the schools. In the next semester, new courses including Architecture and Structure, Mechanics, and Motion Mechanism will be conducted. Please pay attention to YDO’s latest information and make sure to join the school field trip in order to spend an unforgettable time at the maker course!
