DOH: Taipei City’s COVID Update for June 15
The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 4,387 new domestic cases for June 15. As of June 14, there are 30,828 confirmed cases under stay-at-home care and 2,641 individuals under managed home isolation in Taipei City.
The 16th round of COVID-19 vaccine reservations has concluded at 5 PM on June 15. The vaccines available to choose from include kid’s BNT, BNT for 12 or older, Moderna, and MVC. A total of 58,990 slots were available for sign up. The vaccines will be administered between June 20 and 26.
In addition, 27 hospitals offer outpatient clinics to provide vaccines to those interested. A total of 15,345 slots are available via the respective appointment systems of these hospitals. To optimize the allocation of medical resources, residents are reminded to avoid registering under both the city’s vaccination booking platform and hospital’s appointment system.
To provide further protection for senior citizens, the government-funded pneumococcal vaccines will be available for individuals 63 or older (and indigenous elders 55 or older) who have established household residency in Taipei City. Eligible individuals can choose to take their COVID-19 shot and pneumococcal shot at the same time (the shots will go to different arms) or take them separately on different dates. Remember to bring your NHI card and ID card to the hospital/clinic when you show up for the pneumococcal vaccine appointment (indigenous elders should also bring document proving his or her indigenous status). For vaccination information, please call either the pandemic prevention hotline (02-2375-3782) or the pneumococcal vaccine info page on DOH’s Chinese website (https://reurl.cc/9O0qmY).
DOH reminds the public to continue to adopt best practices (washing hands, wear face mask, enforce cough etiquette, etc.) and comply with the guidelines published by the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control on COVID-19 prevention. Those who have yet to take their vaccines should get vaccinated as soon as possible. Individuals without symptoms should avoid visiting community screening stations and hospital emergency rooms.
