DOH: Taipei City’s COVID Update for May 1
The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 4,134 domestic cases for Taipei City on May 1. The number of people under home isolation have exceeded 4,000 as of April 30. Meanwhile, the number of individuals under home quarantine have reached 2,779.
Due to the spike in the number of COVID-19 patients, DOH reported a continued increase of residents under home isolation and home quarantine. Those who receive notification from the authority are required to undergo isolation at home under the “3+4” schedule (3 days of home isolation starting with the last date of contact, plus 4 days of self-administered pandemic monitoring).
DOH reminds those under either home isolation or home quarantine to take note of the following:
To ensure the optimized use of medical resources, Taipei City Government has adopted a fast-track queue policy facilitating access to the seven major PCR screening stations in town for individuals who tested positive. People who experience symptoms such as fever, throat pain, cough, or runny nose should first take a rapid test before seeking medical attention. Those who tested positive should proceed to the PCR screening stations mentioned above. Remember to wear a mask and avoid using public transportation.
Individuals who do not have any symptoms should avoid visiting the PCR screening stations and hospital emergency rooms to minimize the chance of cross-infection. For more information, please call the pandemic prevention hotline (TEL: 02-2375-3782) or the 1999 Citizens’ Hotline.
