To allow passengers to enjoy the fun of reading when taking the MRT, Taipei Public Library (TPL) joined hands with Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation to establish a “FastBook” automatic book stop at Exit 1 of MRT Xinyi Anhe Station.
The facility was inaugurated 1:30 PM on January 13.
Individuals who visit the facility to apply for a Library Card will receive a souvenir, while stocks last. The application session runs between 1:30 PM and 5 PM, from January 13 through 17.
According to TPL, the FastBook at Xinyi Anhe is the seventh book-lending station set up by TPL. It is also the first to be located inside MRT stations. The locations of the other six facilities include: at the entrance to TPL main library; the waiting area between Taiwan Railway and Taiwan High Speed Rail at B1 of Taipei Main Station; the entrance to Taipei City Youth Development Office; in front of the Disbursement Division at the central-north section of Taipei City Hall; Tri-Service General Hospital (Neihu Main Facility); and beside the tourist information center at the basement floor of Songshan Train Station.
Readers can borrow, return, and renew library books at the FastBook station, and the facility also offers them a diversified reading experience. For more information on the service, please visit http://www.tpml.edu.tw (Chinese)
