The 2020 Taipei Dragon Boat Competition will take place at the Dajia Riverside Park between June 25 and 26. To maintain smooth traffic flow near the venue during this period, the Taipei City Police Department (TCPD) has announced the following traffic control measures:
- Duration: June 25 – 26, 8 AM – 4 PM each day
- Area of Effect: The area between Dajia Riverside Park Evacuation Gate 8 and 9. During this period, only authorized vehicles (such as police cars, ambulances, cleaning trucks, garbage trucks, and construction vehicles) and vehicles with permits can access this area.
- Traffic Control at the Evacuation Gates:
- Gate 7: Cars and motorcycles can utilize this entry point. However, no vehicles will be allowed entry when the parking lot reaches its maximum capacity.
- Gate 8: With the exception of bicycles, no vehicles will be allowed entry.
- Gate 9: Only authorized vehicles ((such as police cars, ambulances, cleaning trucks, garbage trucks, and construction vehicles) and vehicles with permits are allowed entry. Taxi cabs are allowed to enter during the event period, but must depart via Gate 10.
- Gate 10: Cars and motorcycles can utilize this entry point. However, there will be a checkpoint established near Gate 9. Only vehicles with permit will be allowed to enter the activity area.
For the purpose of pandemic prevention, the organizers will only grant access to participating teams, staff workers, and friends and families of athletes to the activity area, which is not open to the general public. TCPD suggests that those who desire to watch the dragon boat race can check out the streaming service at the event website or watch live broadcast on TV. Road users should follow the direction of traffic police to avoid traffic congestions.
