TRTC Expands New Takeout Business to MRT Taipei 101 Station
The Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) announced that it will expand the new Metro Taste takeout business to MRT Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station – starting with a low-calorie vegetarian menu item on October 5!
In addition, the inaugural booth at MRT Zhongshan Station is offering the limited-version Edogawa Unadon (rice bowl with eel fillet) between October 5 and 23 – barring weekends and holidays – to commemorate the service expansion. Edogawa, a restaurant from Kyoto with over 60 years of history, is affiliated to the Kintetsu Group of Japan. It has branch stores in Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara, and is known for eel cuisine involving grilling and the use of its special sauces.
To purchase these unique and delicious takeout, simply place your order through the app before 3 PM. Afterwards, you can pick up your dinner at the respective MRT station between 6 PM and 7:30 PM for a nice dinner.
Since the establishment of the new food takeout service 2 months ago, TRTC has worked on the development of a wide range of entrees to satisfy the taste buds of customers. It selected the Taipei 101 commercial area as the ideal location to introduce its low-calorie vegetarian bento. In addition to changing the recipe on a daily basis, the vegetables are prepared with the use of high-pressure steam oven to ensure the retainment of nutrients. It is also the first in the country to add germinated brown rice to make the meals even more healthy.
The Taipei Metro GO App added the Metro Taste function in July, providing tasty meals on the go spanning Taiwanese to Japanese cuisine. To access the platform, simply download the Taipei Metro Go app, select Metro Taste and add your LINE account. Follow the instructions on the app for ordering and select the time and MRT station for pickup. After processing your payment, you will receive a QR Code for meal pickup. Show your QR code at the designated time and location to claim your meal.
