Opening of Dahu Park Great Book Carnival
The Taipei Public Library book bus continues to visit major scenic destinations in Taipei City amid the crisp autumn climate in September. The book bus will be collaborating with Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation to visit Dahu Park in Neihu. It will be parked by exit no. 2 of MRT Dahu Park Station over the weekend of September 28 and 29, transforming into a party station, offering the public a pleasant, comfortable reading corner that houses over 500 great books. Readers are invited to join the family carnival and enjoy an enriching weekend.
The theme of this year’s book bus is Finding Time to Read, hoping to encourage people to set aside some time from their busy schedule every day for reading and enjoy the freedom of undisturbed reading. Walking into the book bus is like entering the cozy study from your childhood; anyone can find a book to his or her liking and spend some quality reading time at the book bus.
On Saturday, September 28, aside from exciting performances by buskers and storytelling activity at the book bus, Taipei Metro’s mascot Maji Meow will also bring about a sing-along and dance-along performance. Don’t rush to go home just yet after reading a good book because there is also an outdoor family cinema at night, serving as the romantic finale to the extraordinary carnival. Please make sure that you do not miss out on the wide array of enthralling activities!
To let readers befriend one another with books, the highly popular good book exchange activity will also be organized for the book bus’s Dahu Park stop, and everyone is invited to exchange their books with other readers at the event. The book bus will also host the interesting Book Bus Detective wide game using the vast collection of books. Readers are invited to unleash their reading potential to solve the puzzles. A special session will be prepared at the Dahu Park for those who have already participated in the event and those who have yet to do so!
The readers’ favorite book bus paper model will be endowed with a new look this year, allowing the readers to take the book bus model home. Additionally, readers who have visited the book bus and clicked like on the Facebook fan page or followed the book bus’s Instagram will be able to take home limited-edition book bus cool cards.
