Sanyang Motor subsidiary Nova Design’s Taipei headquarters has moved into the industrial area on Xinming Road, Neihu. The inauguration ceremony was held this morning (12/16), and more than 100 guests from the government and private enterprises turned out for the function including Taipei City Government’s Department of Economic Development (DOED) Commissioner Lin Chung-Chieh, Sanyang Motor Chairman Wu Ching-Yuan, Director-General of Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA Leu Jang-Hwa, Taiwan Design Center CEO Chang Chi-I and consultant Chang Kuang-Ming, Agricultural Bank of Taiwan Chairman Wu Ming-Min, and Good Design Association Vice-President Chou Shu-Hui.

According to DOED Commissioner Lin Chung-Chieh, Sanyang Motor has expanded its investment to Neihu and established the Taipei headquarters of Nova Design there, thereby consolidating design potential and increasing the intensity of investment in design. Additionally, the resources of design centers in Shanghai and Milan are also integrated, introducing many outstanding industrial design talents to the city, thereby elevating the city’s international competitiveness in the field of design, making it one of the most classic examples of one-stop investment service.

The Invest Taipei Office (ITO) offers customized services for investors in order to help them eliminate investment obstacles and make their presence felt in Taipei. Besides Nova Design, Apple’s Taipei Xinyi A13 flagship store (replica of Apple Michigan Avenue in Chicago) was also made possible through the ITO’s interdepartmental, coordinated services and administrative assistance, demonstrating the administrative efficiency of the city government’s one-stop service in facilitating the smooth proceeding of business investments in Taipei City while living up to expectations in timeframe and quality.

Sanyang Motor was founded in Taiwan 65 years ago, and Nova Design was created by Sanyang’s product design department in 1988, focusing on the goal of developing the field of industrial product design by recruiting domestic talents and introducing foreign technology. Substantial investment was made to import Italian designing and Japanese model building technologies. With over 230 employees worldwide, Nova Design is currently the largest independent industrial design consulting firm in the Chinese-speaking region.
