As the exciting Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays draw near, everything including parties with family and friends, New Year’s feasts, or Christmas feasts revolve around one crucial element: gourmet food. To let passengers soak up the winter feast festive vibes while riding the MRT, advertisements at MRT stations have been replaced by a dizzying display of assorted mouthwatering delicacies, so that they will embark on a delightful gastronomic journey the moment they step into an MRT station.

Roughly 26 smart screens in the stations are promoting the well-known cheesecake label’s OREO Shizuoka Green Tea Brownie; embellished with vibrantly colored green tea powder, the brownie’s rich texture erupts in a tantalizing flavor on the palate! Scan the QR code on the screen with your smartphone, and you will be able to take away the green tea brownie.

At the busiest MRT Taipei Main Station, large digital LCD television screens have been installed in December of this year to replace the traditional lightboxes. As the classic cured meat brand’s popular pork strips and ultra-innovative bubble milk tea cake appear on the screens, forget about the numbers on the scale and reward yourself for a year of hard work by enjoying a scrumptious feast.

Board the train to gourmands’ favorite MRT Dongmen Station, where passengers are greeted by aromatic handmade tea beverages and internationally acclaimed mango shaved ice lining both sides of the escalator, extending their invitation to the passengers!

While waiting at the platform, the TV continues to screen the most popular culinary shows in the world featuring Chinese recipes, providing every household dining table with new menus. Enter the train carriage, and you will be greeted by a wide selection of delectable foods shown on the handgrip straps and the advertising wall behind the seats.

Heading into the 21st century, the MRT also ushers in a new era of advertising with more diverse creative ideas. In light of this, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation has specially designed the Christmas-only MRT Gourmet Festival for passengers to discover the foods they are searching for while riding the MRT train so that they can treat themselves to an unforgettable feast that marks the perfect conclusion to the hard work they have put in over the last year!
