Taipei City Participatory Budget Marks 6th Anniversary, Offers Prizes for

With Taipei’s participatory project celebrating its sixth anniversary this year, agencies across city government would like to express their gratitude to citizens for their involvement in the process. Between 2016 and June 2021, there has been a total of 360 proposals submitted to the participatory budget process. Among these, 317 proposals has reached conclusions, thereby achieving a settlement rat of 88-percent.
 
In 2021, the threat of the pandemic did not prevent government agencies, district offices, and citizens from organizing townhall meetings, deliberation and review sessions, and workshops on participatory budgeting. A total of 40 proposals have been submitted this year in areas spanning park overhaul to environment beautification to transportation.
 
Between 9 AM on July 1 through 5 PM on July 16, individuals above the age of 16 who resides, attends school, works, or have residency in Taipei City can visit Taipei City Government’s i-Voting website (https://ivoting.taipei/) to cast their votes in support of proposals they agree with.
 
Individuals who meet the aforementioned qualifications and cast their vote on the website will have a chance to bring home prizes including iPad Pro and gift vouchers worth NT$10,000!
