Regarding the news report about parking inconvenience around MRT Songshan Station, Taipei City Parking Management and Development Office expressed that the underground parking lot (for 431 cars) for MRT Songshan Station and the underground motorcycle parking lot (for 1,592 motorcycles) for the eastern and western areas of TRA Songshan Station have been available around the station and connected with MRT Songshan Station. Both parking lots are mainly for the use of citizens transferring to MRT Songshan Line. The parking lot at Songshan Elementary School is intended for the use of the community, serving a different purpose. In addition, the roadside parking space along the Songshan Line allows parking for 834 motorcycles, with the roadside yellow lines preserved for temporary parking. In areas within 300 meters along the metro line, there is space available for parking 8,579 cars (721 roadside and 7,858 off-road) and for parking 6,364 motorcycles (3,062 roadside and 3,302 off-road).
To observe the City’s policy for a pedestrian-oriented traffic system and to enhance the convenience of public transportation, citizens are advised to take public and green transportation systems (walking and riding bicycles) in response to the call for environment-friendliness. Those driving, or riding motorcycles are advised to park at off-road parking lots.
