Traffic directions of two U-turn lanes on Civic Blvd. (from Zhongshan N. Rd. intersection to Linsen N. Rd. intersection) have changed, starting Nov. 14, 2014, 5:00 PM

To improve traffic safety at the intersections between Civic Blvd. and Zhongshan N. Rd. and between Civic Blvd. and Linsen N. Rd., Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office (hereafter referred to as the Office) investigated traffic accident occurrence types and causes, and found that the vehicles making U-turns at the aforesaid two intersections often have to intertwine with vehicles going straight through Civic Blvd., which is very likely to result in traffic accidents. Therefore, by adjusting the traffic directions of the eastern U-turn lane at the intersection between Civic Blvd. and Zhongshan N. Rd. and the western U-turn lane at the intersection between Civic Blvd. and Linsen Rd., the Office hopes to improve the complex traffic between vehicles making a U-turn and those going straight ahead. The 1st stage improvement project for the two U-turn lanes has already been completed, and were opened to traffic as of Nov. 14, 2014, 5:00 PM; the traffic directions have also been adjusted accordingly.
According to the Office, starting Nov. 14, 2014, 5:00 PM, those drivers who drive on Civic Blvd. and wish to turn east at the intersection of Zhongshan N. Rd. shall drive to the U-turn lane at the west of Linsen N. Rd., whereas those who wish to turn west at the intersection of Linsen N. Rd. shall now drive to the U-turn lane east of Zhongshan N. Rd. The Office urges drivers to observe traffic signs to maintain smooth and safe traffic on Civic Blvd.
