Refurbished MRT Xinzhuang Station Highlights Baseball Theme
Great news for baseball fans! The internal decorations of MRT Xinzhuang Station have been renewed to spotlight the theme of baseball, the much beloved sports of locals!
The project is made possible through the collaboration among Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC), New Taipei City Government, and the Fubon Guardians Baseball Team. The passionate redesign of the station interior is sure to attract baseball fans from around Taipei, as well as bringing more visitors to the nearby Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium – the home ground of the Fubon Guardians.
Walking from the train platform to Exit 1 of the MRT station, visitors will see numerous baseball stars in action, whether stealing bases or swinging their bats. They will also find numerous points of interest inside the station, including patches of artificial turf, a batting area, and a pitcher’s mound.
Another display area can be found next to the platform elevator, which has been transformed into a scene from the locker room. On the two sides of the elevator column, onlookers will notice the recreated lockers of baseball players – complete with items such as uniforms, bats, and baseball shoes.
TRTC reminds baseball enthusiasts that the most convenient and affordable ways to get to their baseball game is to take the MRT to MRT Xinzhuang Station. The walk from Exit 1 to Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium takes only 15 minutes. Taking mass transit will allow fans to contribute to carbon emission reduction and help them avoid the trouble of finding parking spaces.
