The 2019 Shilin Residence Chrysanthemum Show drew to a successful conclusion on 12/8, attracting over 650,000 visitors this year. In continuing the stunning beauty of chrysanthemum, distinctive chrysanthemums such as multiflora chrysanthemum, chrysanthemum column, and cliffside chrysanthemum will be relocated to the front lawn by the Han Guang Building of the Xitou Nature Education Area in Nantou for the 2019 Taipei – Xitou Multiflora Chrysanthemum Joint Exhibition to be held on 12/14. Visitors will be able to appreciate the beauty of chrysanthemum cultivated by the Parks and Street Lights Office (PKL) of Public Works Department and listen to the melodious music of Mother Nature, and they may also take stunning photos with the chrysanthemum displays!

According to the PKL Director Chen Jung-Hsing, the Taipei – Xitou Multiflora Chrysanthemum Joint Exhibition will be held in conjunction with NTU’s Experimental Forest, College of Bio-Resources & Agriculture, for the 7th year this year as an extension to the Shilin Residence Chrysanthemum Show. This year, the joint exhibition will kick off on 2019/12/14, allowing chrysanthemum enthusiasts from central Taiwan to admire the unique multiflora chrysanthemum at Xitou, which took the staff from PKL over 2 years to cultivate by applying extraordinary horticultural skills. The venue is also adorned with distinctive chrysanthemums and various types of flowers in the daisy family to showcase the vibrant, stunning floriculture and provide visitors with a breathtaking landscape.

According to PKL Horticulture Management Division Director He Chi-Hua, a total of 6 multiflora chrysanthemums and 25 distinctively styled chrysanthemums are on exhibition this year, allowing the visitors to appreciate the magnificent scenery of chrysanthemums and music at the Shilin Residence Chrysanthemum Show! Situated at an elevation of over 1,000m, the Xitou exhibition area’s low temperatures and rainfall help to prolong the flowering period of chrysanthemums, so hurry up and come to Xitou to admire the spectacular multiflora chrysanthemums and distinctive chrysanthemums; if you miss the opportunity, you will have to wait one more year to see such a breathtaking sight.

NTU Experimental Forest Director Tsai Ming-Che commented that he is glad to collaborate with PKL to organize the annual Taipei – Xitou Multiflora Chrysanthemum Joint Exhibition. The aim of the exhibition is to promote the heritage and beauty of Taiwan’s floriculture, as well as to offer citizens a peaceful spiritual journey that takes them to soak up the fragrance of the chrysanthemum and phytoncide in the lush forest, allowing them to get away from all their problems and worries and listen to the sound of nature. Everyone is welcome to visit Xitou to embark on a journey of enlightenment and entertainment in the forest!

The 2019 Taipei – Xitou Multiflora Chrysanthemum Joint Exhibition will be held at the front lawn by the Han Guang Building of the Xitou Nature Education Area in Nantou from 2019/12/14 to 2020/1/1, and everyone is invited to come to Xitou to spend their Christmas and New Year’s vacation!
