[Level 3 COVID Alert] Adjustments to MRT Operations, TRTC-affiliated Facilities
In compliance with the government’s Level 3 COVID Alert adjustments, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) will be making the following modification to prevention measures starting July 13:
According to TRTC, the average daily passenger volume for the months of March through June of 2021 are as follows: 2.05 million, 2.01 million, 1.09 million, and 440,000. The average daily passenger volume for July through today is 510,000.
To minimize the risk of contagion, TRTC conducts disinfection for stations every 2 hours. Disinfection of trains are carried out every 4 hours. Major facilities undergo cleaning and sterilization processes with the help of staff from the Department of Environmental Protection and the army’s 33rd Chemical Corp.
Passengers are reminded to wear a face mask when visiting MRT stations (including ticket vending machine area and lobby area), Zhongshan Metro Mall, and East Metro Mall. Violators will face fines between NT$3,000 and NT$15,000.
