The Sports Department unveiled a new set of guidelines for sports events, sports venues, pools, children’s pools, spas, and playgrounds. The measures will take effect starting October 5
 
Athletes and referees meeting any 1 of the 3 requirements below can apply for face mask exemptions for the duration of the sports event: 14 days since the individual’s first vaccine shot; COVID-19 recovery certificate or quarantine release notice; or negative PCR or fast screening result within 7 days. However, coaches and other staff members (as well as the applicant when away from the field) are still required to wear face mask.
 
Other changes include the follows:

1. Minimal Social Distance during Sports Activities: 1.5 meters between individuals indoors and 1 meter between individuals outdoors.
2. Crowd Management: A maximum of 1 individual every 2.25 square meters indoors, and maximum occupancy for outdoor venues is capped at 50-percent capacity.
3. Pandemic Prevention Plan: The organizers of sports activities or events that exceed 80 people indoors or 300 people outdoors need to submit a pandemic prevention plan at least 3 days before the event to the relevant authority for review. The Department of Sports will conduct inspections to ensure that the proposed measures are implemented.

 
The Sports Department pointed out that venue facilities such as saunas and steam baths will remain closed to the public. Other details of the guideline will be modified and adjusted accordingly depending on the future development of the pandemic.
