Enjoying Environmental Education at Shezidao Wetlands
Tired of making your way through hundreds of other tourists at attractions? Trying to find a place that offers you a great view while participating in education activities? Come and sign up for the Shezidao Environmental Education Promo organized by the Hydraulic Engineering Office (HEO)!
With several sessions taking place starting October, the event organized by the agency include a half-day, leisure “Habitat Shezidao” and the one-day-long “Exploring Wetland Conservation.” Through these tours, participants will learn more about Shezidao and the interesting creatures residing in the wetland, as well as hydraulic construction and its connection with wetland conservation.
According to HEO, the environmental education courses taking place at Shezidao has been vastly popular with the public. The theme of this year focuses on the functions of wetlands. The “Habitat Shezidao” combines local culture with its riverside environment and takes participants on a half-day tour emphasizing ecological observations. The “Exploring Wetland Conservation” tour comprises a visit to hydraulic facilities, ecological observations, and hands-on activities.
Participants will have a chance to joust with armies of crab at the river highland beach, watch mudskippers sailing the water, and help remove some of the obstacles which endanger creatures of the wetlands.
