Be Steady During Quakes – 119 Ensures Your Safety Wanhua District Community Disaster Preparedness Event

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the 921 Earthquake, and with the aim of strengthening the earthquake disaster response capabilities of the citizens, the Taipei City Fire Department, in collaboration with the Xinqi Li Office and the Wanhua Children's Service Center, will jointly host the "Xinqi Li Mid-Autumn Celebration" and "Be Steady During Quakes – 119 Ensures Your Safety" Community Disaster Preparedness Fair on September 13, 2024 (Friday) from 18:00 to 21:00. The event will take place at Qingshui Temple, No. 81 Kangding Road, Wanhua District, Taipei City.

This event will feature exciting stage performances, lucky draws, quizzes with prizes, as well as interactive booths showcasing instant rescue software (the First On Scene app and Taipei City Disaster Prevention app), advocating electrical (lithium battery) safety, CPR and AED practices, residential fire alarms and family escape plans, kitchen fire safety tips, earthquake response, typhoon preparedness, and drowning prevention, totaling 7 informative booths. Additionally, there will be an earthquake experience vehicle that allows you to personally feel the shaking sensation of an earthquake.

There will be continuous giveaways and goodies throughout the event. By participating in the "Fire Safety Q&A" quiz games at each booth and successfully completing the challenges, you can receive small gifts (limited quantity, while supplies last).

The Fire Department advises that to prevent damage from earthquakes, you should prepare disaster supplies such as flashlights, drinking water, and emergency kits, and secure easily toppled furniture in your home. During an earthquake, remember the three steps for survival: "Drop," "Cover," and "Hold On." Download the department's "Taipei City Disaster Prevention App" to receive real-time disaster alerts and learn more about disaster preparedness.

Dear citizens and friends, we warmly welcome you to join us for a disaster preparedness event on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Our goal is to enhance public disaster awareness and response capabilities. We hope this activity will instill correct disaster prevention concepts so that in times of emergency, you will be able to self-help, assist others, and collaborate with the community.
