GO SMART – A Kaleidoscope of Smart City Projects

A Kaleidoscope of Smart City ProjectsFrom March 23 to March 26, GO SMART Global Organization of Smart City (GO SMART) is holding its own project collection exhibition at the Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE). The contents span the finalists and winners of the GO SMART Award, as well as close to 20 outstanding smart city project plans from around the globe. When you visit the GO SMART Pavilion, make sure you explore the smart city projects kaleidoscope!

GO SMART’s mission is to create a platform dedicated to the sharing of international resources, bringing stakeholders together and facilitating exchange, as well as helping members find their ideal business partners and accelerating smart city development. Established in March 2019, GO SMART is a relatively young association within the international smart city community. Currently, it has a total of 207 members from 22 countries, consisting of cities, as well as industries and NPOs from around the globe. GO SMART integrates international smart city capacities with relevant experience and knowhow.

Despite the impact of COVID-19 in 2020, GO SMART’s strategic committee and MiTAC Information Technology Corporation overcame difficulties and relied upon its IT and IOT technology to join hands with Redland City (AU) and Logan city (AU) in executing the Mosquito/Vector-Born Diseases Prevention Project and a roadway information platform respectively. The endeavor claimed the 2020 GO SMART Award for those involved.

LINE Fukuoka, another member of the GO SMART, relied on the GO SMART platform in raising a proposal which allows citizens from both cities to acquire the latest city news & information through their respective city government’s official LINE account. Although this proposal was called off due to COVID-19, the efforts of both cities in using technology in public services and the valuable exchange experience obtained have resulted in its selection as a distinguished GO SMART best practice case of 2020.

GO SMART organized the first GO SMART Award in 2019, with the purpose of discovering innovative and outstanding smart city projects from around the globe. The winners of the 2020 edition include the partners MiTAC Information Technology’s cooperation with Redland City; the implementation of AIOT technology in creating smart health centers and enhancing the effectiveness of New Taipei City’s public health services; the use of NB-IOT technology in detecting and reporting roadside parking data by Taichung City Government, and the real-time trash bin monitoring and cloud management system implemented by Lidbot within Taipei City Hall building.

Over 14 different countries have participated in the 2021 GO SMART Award event, with 13 finalists from cities such as Netherlands, Prague, Tehran, and more on display at the GO SMART exhibition. Moreover, EyesMedia, a GO SMART member, has developed an AI engine which is currently helping Taiwan integrate the iPass system with ASIA Miles by providing the latest smart transport solutions and smart city services. UbeStream focuses on AI smart semantics and edge computing, and is one of Taiwan’s main AI semantics recognition startups. On the other hand, UnaBiz is a provider of comprehensive IOT solutions ranging from product design to hardware to software – and even telecommunication services!

Most large-scale exhibitions around the globe have resorted to either holding an online version or cancelling the occasion. GO SMART acknowledges that this as an opportunity to boost smart city exposure as well as integrating a collection of outstanding projects. GO SMART hereby invites you to participate in the four-day event (March 23- March 26) and witness for yourself the amazing smart city projects that the GO SMART Kaleidoscope has to offer!
