The Fubon Art Museum held its opening ceremony on the morning of May 3, 2024. Distinguished guests in attendance included Fubon Financial Holdings Chairman, Tsai Ming-Hsing, former Vice President of ROC, Siew Wan-Chang, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture Wang Shih-Sue, Taipei City Government Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-Hua, and the commissioner of DOF Hu Hsiao-Lan, among others. The ceremony was a complete success.

In August 2014, the Taipei City Government signed a land development contract for land on No.6, Section 3,Xinyi Section, Xinyi District with Fubon Life Insurance Co., Ltd. Per contracted, on top of collecting development royalties, the city government was entitled to collect annual land rent, thereby injecting revenue into the city finance. Fubon Life Insurance has hence erected a 54-story commercial building and a 4-story space on the site, which also housed the Fubon Art Museum.

Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-Hua of the Taipei City Government mentioned in her speech during the ceremony that the Fubon Life building is one of the famous skyscrapers in the Xinyi Planning District, alongside the Taipei 101 and Taipei Nanshan Plaza. The building has obtained Taiwan's Green Building (EEWH) Gold and the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certifications, emphasizing sustainable development. In addition, Fubon Art Museum is teaming with LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) to exhibit artistic pieces of the great impressionists such as Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Better still, the Fubon Art Museum will offer discounts on tickets targeting at various groups such as children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Along with events such as “Very Fun Park”, the museum is put and blend 15 artistic pieces into the Xinyi District to embellish the quality of life in the area.

The Department of Finance stated that over the years, the Taipei City Government has utilized the establishment of superficies as a vehicle to effectively provide prime Xinyi District land to high-quality investors for development and operation, thereby driving overall development in Taipei City. The results are fruitful! It is hoped that in the future, the Fubon Art Museum will expand citizens' experiences, understanding, and international perspectives on art through hosting diverse exhibitions and activities, enriching Taipei's cultural life, thus enticing charm of Taipei!
