Learn Disaster Prevention From Baseball, Protect Every Base of Safety

To enhance public awareness of disaster prevention and improve citizens' disaster response capabilities, the Taipei City Fire Department will hold the Shilin District Community Disaster Prevention Carnival on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the plaza in front of Taipei Tianmu Baseball Stadium. This event will coincide with the game between the WeiChuan Dragons and the CTBC Brothers of the CPBL.

WeiChuan Dragons, one of the four founding teams of the CPBL. Taipei Tianmu Baseball Stadium, Preventing fires is like participating in a tense baseball game, requiring well-planned defense strategies and prompt, accurate responses to ensure victory in the face of disasters.

This event incorporates elements of baseball, including stage performances and quizzes on disaster prevention knowledge, and features several hands-on and interactive booths. Additionally, there will be a fire prevention advocacy vehicle and an earthquake simulation vehicle, allowing the public to learn how to operate fire extinguishers and experience the impact of a magnitude 7 earthquake.

For many years, the fire department has been continuously innovating, creating various disaster preparedness e-books to provide citizens with learning materials on disaster prevention. These include the "Disaster Preparedness Taipei" manual, as well as easy-to-read booklets such as "What to Do When an Earthquake Strikes," "What to Do When a Typhoon Strikes," "What to Do When a Fire Breaks Out (Fire Prevention Guide)," and "What to Do When a Fire Breaks Out (Evacuation and Escape Guide)." Everyone is encouraged to download these materials during this event.

Citizens are welcome to come and learn about disaster prevention before watching the exciting baseball game. We hope that through community disaster prevention advocacy and experiences, everyone can temporarily step away from their digital devices, learn disaster prevention knowledge with the firefighters and Little Dragon Girl, and deeply embed the correct disaster prevention concepts into their daily lives.
