Taipei City’s 17th Metro Bus will start serving the public starting June 30!
Based primarily on the route served by bus 620, the Beihuan (Circular Line North Section) Metro Bus operates in accordance with the city government’s “8 horizontals, 8 verticals” policy for the establishment of metro bus lines.
The Public Transportation Office (PTO) pointed out that the interval between services for the Beihuan Metro Bus on regular weekdays is 5 to 10 minutes for peak hours and 10 to 15 minutes for non-peak hours. The high frequency of services seeks to meet the needs of commuters.
The theme color of the Beihuan Metro Bus is yellow, and operators have enhanced the recognizability of the bus line by strengthening details in terms of design of the vehicle, bus stop, and related signs.
For the convenience of commuters, the Beihuan Metro Bus adopts the same mechanism for transit between metro bus lines and local bus lines of Taipei City and New Taipei City, where riders enjoy a discount of half-off on the fare of 1 zone when using e-ticket (EasyCard, etc.). The discount is valid for transfer from metro bus line to local bus line and vice versa.
According to PTO, the Beihuan Metro Line connects the districts of Shilin, Neihu, and Nangang. It provides convenient access to work hubs such as Shilin-Beitou Technology Park, Neihu Technology Park, and Nangang Technology Park. In the future, the metro bus will also serve as an important link between MRT Circular Line North Section and parts of MRT Circular Line East Section.
