Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) has won the silver prize at the Directorate-general of Personnel Administration’s (DGPA) 2022 Public Sector Workplace Childcare Facility Evaluation! 

On December 20, Director Chan Wen-tao of the company’s HR Division received the trophy from Chief Human Resource Officer Su Chun-jung during the award presentation ceremony at the Taipei Campus of the Civil Service Development Institute. The company claimed high marks for building a workplace environment that is friendly for childrearing, as well as providing employees with quality and affordable childcare service.

To encourage public agencies to set up nursery and childcare facilities for working parents, DGPA organized the childcare facility evaluation. The targets of the assessment include childcare facilities that gives priority admission to children/grandchildren of civil servants between July 25, 2018 and August 31, 2022. 

A total of 29 agencies competed in this year’s program. After multiple rounds of review by a panel comprising representatives from DGPA, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and outside experts, a total of one gold medal, two silver medals, two bronze medals, and 24 honorable mentions were chosen from the pool of candidates.

To support the government’s childbirth incentives and to lessen the burden for employees with young kids, TRTC established the “Workplace Mutual Assistance Education and Care Service Center.” The institution offers the employees of TRTC affordable and quality childcare, creating a safe learning environment for toddlers since opening on August 16, 2021.
