The flood defense period has come. Torrential rain will occur during the monsoon rain or typhoon season; related units are expected to check if all pumping stations in Taipei City work properly.
Currently, there are 88 stormwater pumping stations (including temporary stations) in the city. Every day personnel are stationed in or perform remote monitoring of these stations round the clock. On-duty personnel will inspect pumping units in the station according to the related regulations to promptly capture the condition of equipment. In addition, they perform four counts of commissioning during the flood defense period (May–November) and two counts of commissioning during the non-flood defense period (December– April) to ensure the functions of pumping units. If anomalies are detected, immediate maintenance and repair will be implemented to restore their functions as quickly as possible. Currently, all 88 stormwater pumping stations in the city work well.
