Organizational Structure
The Hakka Affairs Commission (HAC) is affiliated with the Taipei City Government and is a first-level agency of the Taipei City Government. It has one chairperson, chief secretary, and senior executive officer, and underneath, it has 2 sections and 2 offices, which also act as a personnel office, with a total of about 30 personnel.
The core team of the HAC consists of four persons: the chairperson, chief secretary, senior executive officer, and team member.
The responsibilities and duties of the various departments within the HAC (including the number of personnel involved) are as follows:
- Cultural Planning & Development Division: tasked with policy planning, research, development and governance for Hakka affairs, and the setting up, management and supervision of the Hakka Cultural Hall and the Hakka Art and Culture Center, as well as international Hakka affairs cooperation and exchange, integrated services, and other related matters.
- Culture Preservation & Promotion Division: tasked with the preservation and promotion of Hakka traditional culture, the development and protection of Hakka language, the study of Hakka etiquette, the cultivation of Hakka traditional folklore and language, the creation and refinement of Hakka art, providing advisory services to Hakka associations and Hakka community colleges, and other related matters.
- Secretariat Office: handles the documenting, archiving, information, legal system, coordination with news outlets and other government agencies, research, affairs, cashier functions, procurement, and other matters of the organization.
- Accounting Office: performs budgeting, accounting and statistics-related matters, in accordance with the law.
