What do I do if I am given a rubella vaccination and become pregnant within three months?

Worldwide, there has been no case reported where a woman has been given a rubella vaccination and has become pregnant within three months and there have been serious malformations of the developing fetus. Moreover, from 1971-1989, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in U.S.A follow up 321 cases where women have been given a rubella vaccination and became pregnant within three months. The result did not find serious malformations of the developing fetus. If you are given rubella vaccine and are pregnant within three months and you start willing to conceive, please be sure to visit and consult your doctor and then make the final decision. The Department of Health strongly recommends that if your pregnancy is planned, please be sure not to become pregnant if you have been given a rubella vaccination within one month.
