In order allow an immigrant woman to have a healthy newborn baby and avoid rubella infection during pregnancy, the following guidelines are strongly recommended. It is suggested that you wait to become pregnant until you have been living in Taiwan for four months and also are eligible to apply for the National Health Insurance. It is in order to make you save money on prenatal visits. It is also suggested that you do not become pregnant until you have become accustomed to your new family, married life and a non-native language. You usually need to wait at least one year. It is suggested that you only become pregnant three to six months after your rubella vaccination.
