Beimen Camera Street Summer Sales August 1 - 31
Organized by the Beimen Camera Commercial District Association, the one-month-long promotion event will feature great deals on the latest photography-related products, as well as classic cameras from the analog era such as early Leica models. According to Director Tsai Tsung-hsiung of Taipei City Office of Commerce (TCOOC), the Beimen Camera Street has served photography enthusiasts for over four decades. From the age of analog photography to the internet era, the commercial district boasts the widest selection of photography gears on the island. The Beimen Camera Street comprises the area from the intersection of Hankou Street and Boai Road all the way to Beimen (North Gate). Many Taiwanese purchase photography products from the shops and stores along the street to shoot photos – from recording scenes from daily life to great pieces winning photography contests. The one-month-long special summer sales kicked off on August 1. To allow people to purchase gifts for Father’s Day, merchants will offer special packages of goods with discounts between August 1 and 14. Furthermore, special discounts on photo gears will be available for customers showing their student identification cards between August 1 and 31. For shoppers spending NT$25,000 or more on purchases, they will be eligible to attend a free photo shoot session. Those accumulating purchases of NT$5,000 or more can also sign up for a free photography class to learn tips on improving their picture-taking skills from professionals.
