2018 New Year’s Eve Countdown Party: Fireworks, Pop Stars, and RaffleThe 2018 New Year’s Eve Countdown Party promises to be a star-studded event to accompany you through the night and ring in 2018!

Organized by the Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) with Sanlih E-Television, the event combines music with the well-known fireworks show at Taipei 101.

Artists to performe at the New Year bashTaking place in front of city hall on December 31, this year’s annual New Year’s Eve bash will see top entertainers including Nick Chou, Emma Wu (Gui Gui), Della Wu, Lin Min-chen, William Wei, Eve Ai, MJ116, Crowd Lu, and Bii. The list also includes the winner of Golden Melody Awards Tanya Chua.

Furthermore, pop artists from Korea including Rain and IN2IT will also take to the stage, accompanying local fans to celebrate the New Year. This is the first time for Korean artists to take part at Taipei’s New Year’s Eve bash.

As for the highly-anticipated Taipei 101 Fireworks Show, the theme for this year’s performance is “2018 Happy Together.” The spectacle will combine illumination and sounds, bringing the public a brand-new experience throughout the 360-second pyrotechnics.

According to TPEDOIT Commissioner Chien Yu-yen, the organizers have also invited food truck operators offering a wide range of delicious entrees – spanning snacks, hamburgers, coffees, and more – to set up shop at the East Entrance Plaza next to city hall starting at 2 PM on both December 30 and 31. Enjoying an afternoon or evening listening to music and watching fireworks is a great way to bid farewell to the passing year.
