Confucius Day Commemoration Ceremony to Take Place on September 28
A practice session for the official ceremony will take place in the afternoon of September 27. A total of 100 spectator’s pass will available for members of the public free of charge. The passes can be picked up at the information counter at the temple’s Hong (College) Gate on September 27 and 28, starting at the respective admission time. Those attending the commemoration ceremony/practice session should be aware that there will be a line for individuals to pick up a pass and another line for entering the event venue. After the ceremony, the audience will have a chance to take part in the renowned ritual of “plucking the hair” from an “ox of wisdom.” Individuals will also receive a wooden ballpoint pen resembling a feathered brush, as well as a slice of wisdom cake as souvenirs. To allow the public to learn more about Confucius and his doctrines, there will be a series of related activities all the way to October, including movie appreciation class culture seminar, and paper craft lesson. Starting at 2 PM on September 28, the founder of EP-Books Tai Sheng-I will share with the audience how the Analects guided his life at the 4D Theater of the Confucius Temple. The admission to the event is free.
