The 2018 Gongguan Christmas Season event will officially kick-off on December 1. In addition to Christmas decorations, Taipei Water Park will join surrounding businesses including Road Castle and Riverside Plaza Commercial District to create a “sea of light” with lines of light bulbs, as well as Bravo AR photo frames for selfies and special evening tickets to attract visitors after sunset.
 
According to Taipei Water Department (TWD), the event this year will last from December 1 through December 31. During the activity period, in addition to enhancing the water park with rich floriculture decorations and illumination equipment, the organizers also incorporated Bravo the Bear and set up numerous Christmas-themed motifs at the venue.
 
Through AR applications, visitors can take pictures with Bravo at the water park. Those who upload their photos with Bravo to the Taipei Water Park fan page on Facebook and provide the right answers to a small quiz between December 1 and 22 will have a chance to win prizes ranging from Taipei Water EasyCard to VIP tickets to the park.
 
TWD pointed out that the Christmas festivities this year will center on the park and coordinate with activities in the vicinity, such as the happenings at PIPE LIVE HOUSE and Road Castle. Also, the lighting decoration from Road Castle all the way to the Riverside Plaza will also light up in the evening on the opening day, basking the entire area in Christmas lights.
 
To celebrate the start of the festival, the organizers have invited the strings orchestra of Nanmen Junior High School to perform at 4 PM on the opening day, followed by free concerts held by PIPE LIVE HOUSE from 6 PM through 10:30 PM at the Riverside Plaza.
 
For parents and children, Road Castle have decorated their amusement park facilities – the Ferris wheel and Merry-go-around – with Christmas motifs to welcome the holidays. At the same time, the vendors from Shuishui Cultural and Creative Market, as well as street performers and Santa Claus passing out free candies, will bring laughter and joy to visitors at the Riverside Plaza on weekends during the activity period.
 
The organizers remind the public that the hours of Taipei Water Park will be extended to 8 PM from Friday through Sunday during the Gongguan Christmas Season, to ensure that visitors enjoy a fun-filled night during the winter holidays. They can also take advantage of discounted late hour tickets available after 4 PM.
