Do you recall the success of last year’s Dadaocheng Valentine’s Festival and how so the participants enjoyed the spectacular fireworks at the riverbank? Don’t worry if you missed the show in 2018, because the 2019 Taipei Dadaocheng Chinese Valentine’s Festival will take place between August 3 and 4 at the same location!

During the press conference on July 1 announcing this year’s event, the event organizer Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) remarked that in addition to two days of music and fun, the fireworks show will also illuminate the night sky at the show’s climax.

For 2019, the Dadaocheng Chinese Valentine’s Festival focuses on “Singing Love Song with 10,000 People.” The performers who will take to the main stage include Huang Pin-yuan, Michelle Pan, EggPlantEgg, Huang Yu-han, Kasilaw, HotShock, Boxing, and more! Of course, the dazzling display of fireworks will take place in the evening of August 3, so don’t miss the excitement!

In addition to the Chinese Valentine’s event, TPEDOIT and merchants in the neighborhood will organize a series of romantic event for visiting couples and tourists. Between July 6 and August 4, those shopping at designated stores in Dadaocheng will receive a limited version cloth bookmark. Local theater troupe Dadaocheng Theater will stage romantic plays including Romance of the Chubby Lady, Divine Dutiful Son, and Turmoil on Liangshan. Likewise, the Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Museum in Dadaocheng will also offer souvenirs for those who check in online at the venue, while Sin Hong Choon Tea Store will provide discount and fun hands-on activity for couples.

The agency also joined hands with KKDAY to introduce “2019 Dadaocheng Chinese Valentine’s Festival Special Tour” in July, combining DIY course, urban walk, and literature recital for an unforgettable trip of the neighborhood!

Of course, the Taipei City Mall will also hold the “Summertime Yutaka Festival” on August 3 and 4, while the Beimen Camera Street is sponsoring the “Dadaocheng Chinese Valentine’s Festival Photography Contest” to invite participants to record images of moving scenes, cityscape, and fireworks.
