The annual Tour the Taiwan Cycling Tournament will be taking place in Taipei once again. Fans of cycling will not want to miss the event starting at 9 AM on March 11. Don’t miss the chance to cheer for top athletes as they leave from the starting line at City Hall Plaza!
 
2018 Tour de Taiwan Stage 1 – Taipei City
 
Time and Date: March 11 (Cycling Carnival starts at 7:30 AM; Main race begins at 9 AM)
Venue: Taipei City Hall Plaza and surrounding roads, Renai Road Sections 1 through 4
 
The Tour de Taiwan tournament is a UCI certified 2.1 class international road race event. A total of 20 cycling teams across various parts of the globe will travel to Taiwan to compete in the tour.
 
As the first stage of the Tour de Taiwan, the race in Taipei City is considered the most classic “street circuit” route in the entire program. Cyclists will begin the race at Taipei City Hall. The athletes will travel from Songgao Road, speed along the tree-lined boulevard of Renai Road, circle the historical site of Jingfu Gate (East Gate), and return to the finish line at city hall.
 
Furthermore, members of the public can also take part in the “Cycling Carnival” event during the day of the event. There will be stalls and showcases, including display of BMX maneuvers by skilled athletes and PUSH BIKE competition. Come to City Hall Plaza and join the fun while cheering for the cyclists!
