Exhibition period:October 26 – November 17, 2019 Event Venue:Nangang Tea Production Exhibition Hall
With the arrival of chilling winter winds, the mountains will soon embrace the blooming of sweet Osmanthus flowers. About one hundred years ago, large numbers of Osmanthus trees were planted in the area around Nangang Tea Mountain, hoping to secure the ingredients for making herbal fragrance tea.
Today, the pleasant aroma and sight of the Osmanthus forest has become a tourist spot in the vicinity of Tea Mountain, bringing local visitors during the autumn months. Descending from the Nangang Tea Production Hall via the Osmanthus Trail, travelers will walk by the camellia forest, as well as tea plantations and tea restaurants, and the Osmanthus Suspension Bridge Trail. On the other hand, the 450-meter circular plank trail located above the tea production hall provides a great view of the surrounding area along the way. Visitors will encounter three pavilions when they travel the trail, where they can enjoy a short break in the middle of the greens.
In addition, a brand new “Old Mansion Trail,” which was completed in November of 2018, takes travelers from the scenic overlook area all the way to the Yu Family’s century-old mansion. Over 100 Osmanthus trees decorate the trail, where travelers can also catch splendid glimpse of the Taipei basin.
Every Saturday between October 26 and November 17, the organizers of the 2019 Nangang Tea Mountain Osmanthus Month will hold tea-making tours, tea setting introduction, and Tea Mountain light meals and tea dessert DIY lessons (limited to 20 sets; available on a reservation and prepayment basis). Starting at 2:30 PM, local guide will take participants on a tour of the surrounding tea plantation and chat with farmers.
On November 2, the Taipei Tea Market will be held at the Xiangti Plaza in Xinyi District. The tea masters from Nangang will attend the event and recommend some of their tea of choice at the event. We welcome everyone to come and learn more about the home of Paochong Tea and immerse in the soothing fragrance of Mother Nature.
