Taipei City Government’s COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention SOPs

Provide economic relief measures and strict health management measures to keep private enterprises from closing down.

• Economic relief measures for businesses are the following:
  • Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-Je has introduced 9 new economic relief measures. These include rent reduction, interest rate cuts, subsidies, tax cuts, price reduction and extra time to file tax reductions. Also, cut the rents for commercial districts and underground stalls by half.
  • Establish quarantine hotels so that hotels can be put to use while there are fewer tourists.
  • Explore business opportunities arising from epidemic prevention efforts such as the medical and biotech industry, telemedicine, and Internet of Things. Support businesses working on these new opportunities.
  • Speed up e-government reform to strengthen competitiveness and allow businesses to avoid going to government offices in person.
