Taipei, Almere of Netherlands Ink MOU

A delegation led by Annemarie Jorritsma-Lebbink, Almere Mayor of the Netherlands, visited Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin at the City Hall on November 14. The two leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation during the meeting.
With the MOU, Hau noted, the two cities will work to strengthen bilateral ties in the aspects of sustainable development, investment, and trade. Hau also shared with the Dutch mayor the experience of hosting major events such as the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo.
Also, Hau remarked that the slogan of the Dutch city--“Everything is possible in Almere”—is equally applicable to Taipei. From Taipei 101 to night markets, the capital of Taiwan is full of possibilities awaiting tourists to explore. Hau invited the dignitaries to have a taste of the vibrant life of Taipei during their short stay.
On her part, Jorritsma expressed her delight in seeing Hau so soon following their meeting in the Netherlands two months ago. She also looked forward to closer relationship and exchanges between the two cities.
