Explore Taipei with NMB48
Japanese idol girl group NMB48’s new MV “Durian Shonen” was filmed at Taipei. The scenes were shot at attractions such as Grand Hotel Taipei, Dalongdong Baoan Temple, and Raohe Street Night Market. Taipei City Government Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) released a tour itinerary recommending Taipei attractions allowing visitors to “explore with NMB48”.
One of the scenes in the MV featured the Olympic-size swimming pool in Grand Hotel. The hotel boasts palace-style architecture offering visitors a leisurely stay.
Another scene was shot at the Dalongdong Baoan Temple on the last day of the Baosheng Culture Festival. Viewers will notice the array of cultural activities, including dragon dance and the Taiwanese religious folk icon Santaizi (“the Third Prince”). Baoan Temple was originally constructed in 1742 as a small timber-frame structure. Throughout the 19th century, many expansion and renovation projects for the temple were conducted. Two of the renovation masters participated in the restoration project competition of 1917, resulting in two different styles of reconstruction of the roof edge.
The last stop on the tour itinerary is Raohe Street Night Market. In addition to the popular Fuzhou Ancestor Pepper Pie, the night market boasts tasty delicacies such as the Fukushimaya okonomiyaki (福島屋圓圓燒), pocket toast, and mango shaved ice. Many fortune telling booth are also found along Raohe Street. After a long walk, visitors can try out the foot massage to relieve the stress.
