To help children learn disaster prevention knowledge in a fun and engaging way during the summer break, Taipei City Fire Department will hold the “2026 Taipei City Fire and Metro Disaster Prevention Experience Camp” from July 6 to July 22, 2026 (every Monday to Wednesday) at the Beitou Resort of Taipei Metro. Through interactive games, hands-on activities, and realistic simulations, children will learn essential disaster prevention and emergency response skills. The camp is completely free of charge, and online registration will officially open at 10:00 AM on June 1, 2026. Parents are encouraged to register early, as spots are expected to fill up quickly! What is the coolest experience this summer? The answer is: “Actually learning emergency evacuation inside a real metro system!” For the first time, Taipei City Fire Department is partnering with Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation to launch an immersive “Metro Emergency Evacuation Experience Program.” Children will have the opportunity to enter real metro platforms and train cars, as well as simulated tunnel environments, to experience emergency response scenarios firsthand. They will learn how to stay calm, make safe decisions, and evacuate properly during unexpected incidents. In addition to the exciting metro escape experience, the camp also includes a variety of disaster prevention courses such as fire safety, earthquake evacuation, smoke escape training, and self-protection skills. Through scenario-based learning, interactive games, and practical drills, children will learn important safety knowledge while having fun.

According to Taipei City Fire Department, eligible participants include elementary school students entering Grades 1 to 4 in the 2025 academic year who are either registered residents of Taipei City or currently enrolled in Taipei City elementary schools. For children who are neither registered residents nor enrolled in Taipei City schools, at least one parent or legal guardian must have household registration in Taipei City. A portion of the camp spots will also be reserved for children from orphanages and child welfare organizations, allowing more children the opportunity to learn disaster prevention skills.

Fire Department reminds parents that this annual event is extremely popular and spaces are limited. Registration may close early once all spots are filled. Don’t miss the opportunity to give your children the most exciting and practical disaster prevention adventure of the summer!
