Vibrant Hakka Voice! Taipei Broadcasting Station’s Noblen Association Wins Back-to-Back Hakka Voice Awards
The “5th Hakka Voice Awards,” an annual audio celebration hosted by the Hakka Public Communication Foundation, held its awards ceremony on September 12 at the Taipei City Hakka Music and Theater Center. Taipei Broadcasting Station (TBS) stood out with its high-quality Hakka youth program Noblen Association, once again taking home the top honor in the Radio category’s “Best Children and Youth Program Award.” This back-to-back victory highlights the station’s exceptional production expertise in promoting ethnic/community language revitalization and youth education. The Hakka Voice Awards recognize the outstanding contributions of Hakka radio professionals and independent creators, encouraging the production of high-caliber Hakka audio content. The two-time award winner, Noblen Association, takes its name from a phonetic play on the English phrase “no problem.” Hosted by Ying-Jen Li, the show is tailored specifically for teenagers as an engaging, situational legal program presented in Hakka, combining education and entertainment. Noblen Association’s strength stems from a dual-track storytelling model that seamlessly merges “audio drama” with “situational legal analysis,” breaking away from traditional, formulaic legal instruction. With a keen eye for everyday observation, host Ying-Jen Li transforms relatable youth legal scenarios into compelling stories. Legal experts featured on the program further break down complex concepts into accessible insights, guiding young listeners from “empathizing with real-life situations” to “understanding the law,” and ultimately helping them build legal literacy and self-protection skills for daily life. Reflecting on this consecutive win, host Ying-Jen Li shared: “I’m deeply grateful to the judges for recognizing us two years in a row, and especially thankful to TBS for giving us the creative freedom to present serious legal knowledge to young audiences through Hakka in such a vibrant and relatable way. This honor belongs to our entire production team, and we’ll keep using creative audio storytelling to guide and support our listeners through everyday life.” Shao-Chien Hu, Director of TBS, emphasized the station’s ongoing dedication to promoting multiculturalism and ethnic languages, as well as its strong focus on delivering innovative, high-quality programming for children and youth. Winning the award for two years in a row stands as both a testament to the production team’s exceptional quality and a meaningful recognition of the program’s value in advancing legal education. Noblen Association airs every Saturday from 13:00 to 13:30. Listeners can tune in to TBS on FM 93.1 and AM 1134. Listeners can also access on-demand episodes from the past year via the “T Radio” online radio platform (https://tradio.gov.taipei/).
