Head of Taipei City’s Office for Gender Equality, Hsu Li-min, Promises Three-faceted Solution to LGBT Issues!

Focusing on population, marriage and family, the second session of “Voices from Taipei: Public Forum for Gender Equality” saw Hsu Li-min, head of Taipei City Government’s Office for Gender Equality (OGE), pledge to tackle Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) issues from three perspectives:

1. Include LGBT issues in the agenda of OGE-level agencies;

2. Make same-sex couples eligible for joint weddings (or similar rituals) whenever possible;

3. Consider introducing legally viable solutions to LGBT issues, which involve various dimensions of society, first by improving the welfare of LGBT City Government staff.
