TBS Receives Multiple Honors; Mayor Chiang Wan-An Praises Its Professional and Passionate Storytelling of the City
Taipei Broadcasting Station (TBS) has recently received multiple accolades and presented them to Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-An during the Municipal Administrative Meeting today (Oct 28), demonstrating the station’s professionalism in program production and its dedication to cultivating cultural content. This year, TBS was honored with two awards at the 60th Golden Bell Awards for Radio Broadcasting, the 4th Hakka Sound Awards for Best Children and Youth Program, and the 2025 Cultural and Creative Industry Reporting Award (Broadcast News Reporting Category – Merit Award), showcasing the innovative value of a high-quality public broadcasting service. Mayor Chiang congratulated the station on its achievements, noting that the awards recognize not only the programs, hosts, and production teams, but also serve as proof of Taipei Broadcasting Station’s longstanding commitment to telling the stories of the city through sound. From Taipei’s history and local culture to Hakka education and legal literacy, Mayor Chiang expressed appreciation for the station’s ability to deliver programs that are both rich in depth and warmly relatable. He added that he hopes every listener can feel Taipei’s warmth and emotional connection during their time on air. TBS Director Shao-Chien Hu stated that the station, as a key municipal media platform, not only carries the mission of communicating public policy and serving the community, but is also committed to promoting and sharing Taipei with a broader audience. At the 60th Golden Bell Awards for Radio Broadcasting, TBS received two major awards. The Golden Years of Zhongshan Hall, hosted by Judie Shih, received the “Best Arts & Culture Program Host Award,” while Relish the Golden Times, hosted by Ania, won the “Best Lifestyle Program Award.” These two programs offer an accessible exploration of Taipei’s heritage that reflects both cultural richness and genuine affection for the island. Additionally, Noblen Association earned the 4th Hakka Sound Awards for “Best Children and Youth Program,” using Hakka language and an engaging approach to guide young listeners through everyday legal knowledge, fostering legal awareness and civic literacy. Taipei Soundscape Series – Portraits of Trades and Crafts received the 2025 Cultural and Creative Industry Reporting Award (Broadcast News Reporting Category – Merit Award). Centered on the 140th anniversary of Taipei’s city founding, the program conducts field research and in-depth interviews to document disappearing crafts, professional trades, and urban soundscapes, underscoring the station’s production strength in cultural storytelling and creative media.
