Successful Conclusion of Inaugural Neihu Technology Park 1,000-People Blood Drive!
Taipei Neihu Technology Park Development Association (NTPDA) held the first Neihu Technology Park 1,000-People Blood Drive on July 17 and 18. On July 18, Mayor Ko Wen-je attended the event to show his support for the firms and employees in Neihu Technology Park, hoping their philanthropic gesture will encourage more people to donate blood.
According to Ko, enterprises in Neihu Technology Park also organize corporate blood drives from time to time. This year, various enterprises have been brought together to host the joint blood drive in order to increase the benefits of the event.
Data from the Department of Economic Development’s biennial investigation indicates that as of December 2017, there were 4,601 companies in Neihu Technology Park, generating revenue of NT$4.2071 trillion and hiring in excess of 152,000 people, making it the highest-grossing and the most important information and communication industry cluster not only in Taipei City, but also Taiwan.
Furthermore, Taipei City is vigorously promoting innovative startups, and the first “technology facility – incubation center and facility”-oriented BOT project called t.Hub, is slated for inauguration in Q1 of 2020. In particular, t.Hub, the largest incubation center in the country, will inject new momentum of innovation to Neihu Technology Park. Relevant supporting services and facilities have been devised to optimize the internal work environment of Neihu Technology Park and facilitate its upgrade as well.
NTPDA Director Weng Su-hui hopes that through the appeals by both the mayor and the association, as well as the philanthropic gesture of employees in Neihu Technology Park, more people will be encouraged to contribute to charity by donating blood. This year’s event brings together numerous enterprises including Advantech, Leeco Outlet, Delta Electronics, Compal Electronics, D-Link, Qisda/BenQ, ECS, FETnet, CECI, PIC, Victoria Group, CyberSoft, JUIC, Cathay General Hospital, Liang You Science and Technology, RECOM, Taipei Flowers Auction, Ya Kuang, Deloitte & Touche, Hongwell, Tri-Service General Hospital, Honda Cars Taipei Neihu, Taiwan Taxi Co., USI Corp, Syntek Semiconductor, Chan Chao International Enterprise Group, and 88Mov Melody Hall., etc. A total of 860 bags of blood were donated on the first day, equivalent to over 215,000 c.c.; the target for the 2-day activity is to donate more than 1,600 bags of blood, or more than 400,000 c.c.
