The Department of Finance (DOF) of the Taipei City Government (TCG) advances electronic centralized disbursement in response to Earth Day Nationwide first: House Tax incentives for energy-efficient buildings; Apply for electronic tax bills to receive promotional gifts
In response to the April 22 Earth Day and to implement the 2050 Net Zero Carbon Emissions and environmental sustainability goal, the DOF of TCG actively promotes the electronization of centralized disbursement and applications for electronic tax bills. On April 22, staff on-site will assist citizens in applying for electronic tax bills on the 1st floor of the Municipal Building. Those who complete the application will receive a limited-edition exquisite advocacy gift. Commissioner Hu, Hsiao-Lan of the DOF said that in order to implement the concept of net-zero sustainable governance, the DOF encourages payees to receive funds via electronic remittance, achieving a remittance rate of 99.9%. In addition to enabling the payees to get money more quickly and smoothly, the public can also inquire about or apply for remittance notice service, saving accounting processing time and demonstrating administrative efficiency. Through electronic centralized disbursement service, approximately 1.36 million pieces of paper can be saved, 164 fewer trees can be cut down, and 25,000 kilograms of carbon emissions can be reduced each year, achieving environmental sustainability goals. Commissioner Hu further said that to build Taipei into a livable zero-carbon city, the DOF has launched the nationwide-first tax reduction policy for buildings that have obtained Building Energy-Efficiency Labels. The buildings that get rated Level 1, Level 1+, or Level 0 will receive a 5% reduction in the standard unit price of buildings. The goal is to lower the house tax burden and provide incentives for a net-zero transition. The DOF also actively promote the use of electronic tax bills, promote the electronic delivery of payment slips or bank transfer payment notices and proof of payment, and encourage the public to set up a prize redemption account through the four-step cloud invoice process to achieve the convenience of automatic prize redemption, so as to protect the environment and love the earth together. The DOF finally stated that in response to the April 22 Earth Day, on April 22, the Disbursement Division of the DOF on the 1st floor of the Municipal Building added a service counter to provide on-site guidance for applying for Taipei City’s electronic tax billing service. Applicants who complete the process will receive an exquisite advocacy gift (limited quantities available, while supplies last). The DOF hopes to achieve the net-zero sustainability goal by promoting electronic centralized disbursement, tax reduction policies for the constructions obtain Building Energy-Efficiency Labels, and electronic tax bills and cloud invoices, with the public sector taking the lead and encouraging private enterprises and groups to work together.
