Taipei Senior Easycards Policy Further Upgraded: More Card Points, Plus Coverage for Health Check-ups to Build an All-Around Age-Friendly City for Senior Wellbeing
The Taipei City Government is committed to building a LOHAS city that values its senior citizens and supports their healthy aging. Currently, points in Taipei Senior Easycards are redeemable across 12 types of transportation and 66 venues, offering the widest coverage nationwide. Mayor Chiang Wan-an has announced today that senior health check-ups will be included in the scope of point redemptions. To demonstrate the city government's determination to care for seniors' health and living, the Department of Social Welfare has invited the Department of Health, Taipei City Hospital, and other relevant units to jointly discuss and evaluate items with substantial health benefits. These items include brain and lung screenings, abdominal ultrasounds, bone density and muscle strength examinations, and so forth. Their evaluation led to the inclusion of senior health check-ups from the Taipei City Hospital system within the Taipei Senior Easycard's point redemption scope, encouraging senior citizens to use the card to support a healthy lifestyle.
